Foundation Day 2025 – Celebrating what makes us proud to be MPA.
Last Friday, the MPA team gathered at the Taronga Centre for Foundation Day, celebrating 26 years of MPA. The day was all about building connections and sharing what makes us proud to be part of MPA.
Against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour, we enjoyed a day of engaging sessions, inspiring conversations, and plenty of laughs. From meeting new faces across different teams to reconnecting with colleagues, the atmosphere was filled with energy and camaraderie.
We asked everyone to reflect on what they loved and took out of the day, and what they would want to share with others.
The insights were inspiring:
“Celebrate progress and small wins more often.”
“Cooperation and trust build strong teams.”
“Back myself and trust my judgement.”
“Gratitude and recognition matter.”
We heard stories of adventure from James Castrisson, who was the first person who kayak across the Tasman Sea, and completed the longest unassisted polar expedition of all time and his many learnings, particularly the importance of planning and strategy to achieve great things.
The energising simulations led by Nathy and Rob from Phuel, and lively banter that led to incredible insights, left the team feeling motivated for the year ahead.
Thank you to our facilitators, organisers, and the whole MPA team, who brought their enthusiasm and openness to the event.
