From sketch to space: how we bring an architect’s vision to life, with Hammond Studio

Delivering your dream workplace takes more than just great design. It takes a building partner who understands the vision and is dedicated to achieving your desired outcome.

Genuine collaboration with the architect is something we pride ourselves on.

Every step of the way, we are not only keeping our clients informed, we are working hand-in-hand with design teams to preserve and elevate their creative intent, even through construction complexities.

That was exactly the case at Parkline Place, where we partnered with long-time collaborator Todd Hammond and the Hammond Studio team to bring to life a highly detailed, design-led commercial lobby and speculative suites. The result is a space that celebrates materiality, form and function, crafted with care and consistency.

Over the years, we have designed some complex and intricate projects, using materials and methodologies that are not typical. When MPA is engaged, we breathe a sigh of relief, knowing the project is in safe hands and that our design intent will always be realised. Their collaborative style, problem-solving attitude and clear communication are always commendable. It's what is required for delivering a successful project for our clients and has resulted in many award-winning outcomes.

From the builder’s perspective, ensuring design intent is achieved means involving the designer at every critical stage—from site visits reviewing joinery, stone, and custom furniture layouts, to hands-on prototyping of key elements like the curved stone desk, lighting integration, and signage at Parkline Place.

We worked hand-in-hand with joiner Enth Degree on the lobby’s custom joinery, whose exceptional craftsmanship was instrumental in bringing the design to life. This kind of collaboration allows us to resolve complexities in real time while staying true to the original vision.

True precision is about more than perfect finishes, it’s about partnership. And when architect and builder operate in sync, that’s when great design becomes great places.
