Inspiring the next generation: Girls in property

Last week, more than 100 economics students from four Sydney schools attended an immersive, full-day program designed to introduce them to the dynamic and evolving world of property and construction.

The Property Council of Australia's "Girls in Property" program raises awareness among high school students of the various career paths available across the property industry. It aims to generate a more diverse pipeline of talent by encouraging more women into the sector.

As an official sponsor, we were thrilled to support the initiative, with Design Manager, Michele Di Giorgio and Senior Services Manager, Sam Pearson, guiding the girls through the days activities as industry mentors.

Reflecting on the experience, Michele shared, “I’m grateful to have participated in such a worthwhile program. It was a chance to workshop fresh ideas and encourage these students to consider fulfilling careers in the property and construction industries.”

The day began with a keynote presentation, followed by a live panel discussion where students could ask questions and hear reflections about careers in property. The panel highlighted the diverse career paths the industry offers, the challenges and opportunities it presents, and its critical role in shaping the social and economic development of Australia.

Mentor-led workshops gave students the chance to explore real-world projects, involving topics surrounding residential and hyper-connected cities, the evolving commercial workplace offer and redefining retail.

We’re proud to be nurturing young talent and empowering the next generation of industry leaders.
