Gilbert + Tobin - Melbourne
We extended our national partnership with Gilbert + Tobin, engaged to construct their new office as they relocated within their existing building.
It was key for the client to have consistency across all offices nationally, therefore the modern workplace is based on the Australian landscape and features high-end finishes, stone, timbers and wall panelling. The team ensured that the space aligns nationally in craftmanship, attention to detail and materiality.
A standout area is the highly-detailed, multi-functional front of house with custom reception desk and automatic pivot doors.
The finished space also includes boardrooms, tubeline feature ceiling, collaboration areas, staircase, commercial kitchen and breakout space, library, quiet booths, lift lobby and amenities upgrade.
Demanding the highest levels of acoustic privacy, services integration including acoustics, AV, mechanical services and lighting required high-level coordination to achieve a seamless finish.
With early engagement, MPA’s expert team assisted with design development. This was especially key with the tightness of ceiling spaces in the front of house, where multiple design resolutions were required to achieve the desired outcome. MPA worked closely with WSP and Woods Bagot via regular site visits to fast-track and problem solve the design issues.
Having previously delivered work in the building, MPA’s familiarity with the site access requirements and site-specific nuances ensured a seamless, positive and professional project experience for all involved.
