Gilbert + Tobin - Sydney

Gilbert + Tobin engaged us to complete their new offices in International Tower 2 at Barangaroo. Extending across four levels, the design is based on the Australian landscape and features high-end finishes including Australian Blackbutt and Red Heart Gum wall panelling and joinery, stone flooring and wall panelling.

The fitout demanded the highest levels of acoustic privacy, including slabtoslab walls and curved double glazing. The feature ceilings are intricately detailed and include a range of high quality materials, including Barrisol and Blackbutt timber battens, as well as custom detailing of existing base building ceiling tiles.

Services integration including acoustics, AV, mechanical services and lighting required high-level coordination to achieve a seamless finish. The project achieved a 5 Star Green Star rating, with over 80% of waste generated throughout the construction process recycled. In addition, PEFC certified timbers and veneers, over 500 adaptable workstations and a highly controlled commissioning process combined to achieve this rating.
