Wotton + Kearney
A law firm with offices across Australia and New Zealand, Wotton + Kearney appointed us to build their new Melbourne office, located at 500 Bourke Street, under early engagement.
Designed by Woods Bagot, the project featured a detailed front-of-house area which offers welcoming connection to the breakout space, featuring generous banquet seating, striking aluminium batten ceiling with integrated lighting, and a fully equipped barista bar.
The design was resolved throughout the ECI process, ensuring the barista bar was executed on brief and budget. The full floor fitout with 360-degree views of the Melbourne skyline affords a bright and expansive atmosphere throughout.
Sustainable initiatives were key throughout the project, demonstrated in the reuse and repurpose of existing furniture including joinery units and chairs from Wotton + Kearney's previous office. This extended to acquiring second-hand furniture sourced from Deloitte’s previous fitout, that contributes to the landfill avoidance of the project.
Overseen and directed by project management group Sandstone, project challenges included the coordination of the feature timber batten ceiling, and ensuring compatibility of the integrated security system. Both were overcome with meticulous planning.
The result is an inviting yet functional space that Wotton + Kearny are very happy with and will enjoy for years to come.
