Yakimono - Lucas Group

We were engaged by the Lucas Group to build a new dining experience for the retail and dining precinct on the site of the heritage listed Le Lourve building at 80 Collins Street.

In addition to building Society, we also built a second restaurant for the Lucas Group, Yakimono. Constructed on the lower ground, the use of timber, concrete, steel and technicoloured glazing creates a sense of playfulness. The open bar and kitchen area enables patrons to take in the atmosphere and enjoy the action of the venue.

With the site surrounded by buildings under construction, the team worked closely with the base building contractor to coordinate access, deliveries and safety management.

We were engaged early in the process and were able to provide value management options ensuring that the budget was managed and design intent maintained.
