BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager. When it chose Sydney's reimagined 33 Alfred Street as the home for their expanded local operations, they needed a construction partner who could translate their global workplace model into a high-performing, locally delivered home for their people.

Blackrock - 33 Alfred Street

Working closely with the project manager, JLL, and designers, M Moser, we delivered three floors that felt cohesive, premium, and purpose-built for the way their teams work. Consistency with BlackRock's global brand was paramount, as was creating a space where privacy and collaboration could co-exist. Considered detailing throughout, including a feature ceiling of timber bulkheads above the level 12 breakout space, brings warmth and texture to the premium finish.

Drawing on our extensive experience delivering multiple fitouts within this heritage building, we brought an intimate understanding of its fabric and a proven approach to managing HAZMAT materials with expertise and ease. This deep familiarity allowed us to proactively address asbestos management, and a level of foresight only possible through working within the asset.

A key priority for BlackRock was strict adherence to BlackRock’s global workplace design, engineering and technology standards to ensure a seamless delivery. In line with this, all communication rooms were handed over eight weeks before Practical Completion, enabling the BlackRock engineering and technology teams early access to commence fit-out and system integration works. This staged approach ensured their teams were fully operational from day one in their new space.

Towards the end of the project, we also coordinated a Breakfast with Two Good Co., a social enterprise providing meals to people experiencing domestic violence, reflecting the community-minded approach we bring to every project.
