A modern workplace for a legacy law firm
Makinson d'Apice
With a history spanning more than 150 years, Makinson d’Apice has built a proud legacy on a people-centric philosophy. When it came to partnering with us to build their new workplace at 201 Elizabeth Street, the experience of their people and clients was at the heart of every decision.
Our value on this project was grounded in experience and early involvement. Having delivered three previous projects in the same building, we assured Makinson d’Apice that we had done this before - we knew the site intricacies, the base building conditions, and had strong existing relationships that allowed us to build with confidence from Day One. Early engagement allowed us to resolve potential issues before construction began, working on a site we knew well to deliver the project with precision.
Close collaboration was key to the project's success. Through weekly PCG meetings, site walkthroughs, and an open line of communication with Makinson d’Apice and the consultant team, we ensured the project stayed aligned with their vision at every stage. We also developed workstation prototypes in partnership with their IT team to guarantee both functionality and comfort.
Attention to detail was critical throughout the build. Curved feature walls demanded precision and tight finishes, while the base building's fire protection measures required careful reinstatement of vermiculite fireproofing after ceiling penetrations. Our strong relationships with trusted contractors ensured the smooth delivery of critical elements, including the installation of the interconnecting stair.
The result is a professional, welcoming, and sustainable workspace that truly supports the way Makinson d’Apice works today and into the future.
