Novartis, an innovative medicines company, has relocated its ANZ office space from Macquarie Park to the newly completed Victoria Cross development, positioned directly above the new Metro Station in North Sydney.

The move intends to improve how employees connect, supported by the Metro-led revitalisation that has turned the precinct into a lively destination with better facilities, retail and dining options.
The fitout aligns with the building’s sustainability credentials, including Platinum WELL, 6 Star Green Star, and 5.5 Star NABERS Energy ratings. The development operates as a net-zero carbon, all-electric building, capable of being powered by 100 per cent renewables.
We were engaged partly due to our extensive experience as the first fitout contractor on over-station developments along the new Sydney Metro line. Apart from the base builder, Lendlease, we were once again the first fitout builder on site, navigating technical constraints and complex building interfaces.
Delivery was managed within a program tightly integrated with Lendlease’s base building works, with our project handing over just three weeks after base building practical completion. This required close coordination with the base build team, careful resequencing of works, and adaptive construction methodologies to maintain momentum and mitigate program risk.
The brief was to create a functional, flexible, and inspiring environment that maximises the building’s exceptional views and supports a range of workstyles. This included larger and more capable meeting spaces, workstations positioned along the façade to take full advantage of the 360-degree views, including the uninterrupted Sydney skyline, and a strong focus on collaborative space.
Encouraging movement and connection, a large and inviting breakout space sits directly behind reception. With a kitchen and a variety of seating options, the space accommodates casual meet-ups and moments of connection, with meeting rooms nearby for more formal discussions. A large, flexible town hall space with an operable wall enables the workplace to transform for all-hands meetings and events, while huddle rooms and focus spaces are generously sized to support various modes of working. A standout boardroom overlooks the city, equipped with advanced AV and tracking camera technology to support hybrid working.
